Cats in thar Cradle

Me child arri'ed jus' ye other day

He came t' world in t'usual way

But thar were planes t'catch, an' bills t'pay

He learned t'walk while I was away

An' he was talkin' ‘fore I knew it, an' as he grew

He’d say, I’m gonna be like ye, dad

Ye know I’m gonna be like ye

An' ye cat’s in t'cradle an' ye sil'er spoon

Little boy blue an' yonder man in yonder moon

When ye comin' home, dad?

I don’t know when

But we’ll get t'gether then

Ye know we’ll have a good time then

Me son turned ten jus' ye other day

He said, thanks fer t'ball, dad, come on let’s play

Can ye teach me t'hrow, I said, not today

I got a lot t'do, he said, that’s okay

An' he walked away, but his smile ne'er dimmed

Said, I’m gonna be like him, yeah

Ye know I’m gonna be like him

An' ye cat’s in yonder cradle an' ye sil'er spoon

Little boy blue an' thar man in thar moon

When ye comin' home, dad?

I don’t know when

But we’ll get t'gether then

Ye know we’ll have a good time then

Well, he came from college jus' ye other day

So much like a man I jus' had t'say

Son, I’m proud o'ye

Can ye sit fer a while?

He shook his head, an' he said wi' a smile

Wha' I’d really like, dad, be t'borrow yonder car keys

See ye later

Can I have them please?

An' t'cat’s in yonder cradle an' t'sil'er spoon

Little boy blue an' ye man in yonder moon

When ye comin' home, son?

I don’t know when

But we’ll get t'gether then

Ye know we’ll have a good time then

I’ve long since retired an' me son’s mo'ed away

I called him up jus' yonder other day

I said, I’d like t'see ye if ye don’t mind

He said, I’d love t', dad, if I could find yonder time

Ye see, me new job’s a hassle, an' ye kid’s got thar flu

But it’s sure nice talkin' t'ye, dad

It’s been sure nice talkin' t'ye

An' as I hung up yonder phone, it occurred t'me

He’d grown up jus' like me

Me boy was jus' like me

An' yonder cat’s in ye cradle an' yonder sil'er spoon

Little boy blue an' t'man in yonder moon

When ye comin' home, son?

I don’t know when

But we’ll get t'gether then

Ye know we’ll have a good time then

Discuss how readin' a song be different from sin'in' it?

When I read a song ye don’t feel t'beats o't' music. But when I sin' their music that play wi' ye beats

Wha' elements o'yer recordin' were most effecti'e?

I went in yonder libraries room t'recorded me voice.  It’s was better because it was quite an' no ones was in it. An' i use we'ideo t'recorded me voice.
