The longest Road Trip.

Have you ever been on a road trip and thought “Oh my goodness, when is this going to be over”!  Well, I know I have, and it sucks.  The awful dread of thinking when the car ride is going to be over.  It is even worse though when your family is making the car ride worse.  I am going to tell you about the worst road trip I was forced to go on (with my family).

It all started in the morning.  You can’t enjoy a day unless you enjoy your morning, and for me especially.  The morning that my family and I were going to Edmonton (what was supposed to be a “fun family trip”).  I woke up, wait I mean my mom woke me up waiting in the truck with the rest of my family.  Of course, I was mad, my parents did not even care to wake me up!  So, I ran out of the house with my hair not brushed and a stomach completely empty.  I got in the car and my mom was yelling at me because “I made my family late”, but really I did not!  It was not my fault that my family was “late” even though no one woke me up or even tried to see if I was awake and we were not even supposed to be on time for anything.

After my mom yelled at me, we started to drive.  Not a word came out of my mouth for the first 20 minutes.  After a while, my parents asked me why I was not talking, they said it was unusual for me not to keep quiet.  I simply said, “I am just tired”.  My mom said that is no excuse for me to be grumpy, just because I was tired.  I did not talk much the whole way to Edmonton, simply because there was not much to say.  I did not know how to start a conversation with them at that moment, after all, I was really really upset, and it is really hard to start a conversation with people you are mad at.

When we got to Edmonton, I was in al lot better mood than I was at home.  I am a very forgiving person and I knew that we were going to go to some of my favorite shopping stores.  So, I decided to put a smile on my face and go about my day, although the car ride was the worst and it was 2 hours long, it was deferentially worth it in the end because I went shopping.

Some car rides do just suck, and sometimes it is even worse when you are with your family.  Your family could make it so bad that you wish you could just die, they could purposely annoy you so feel like you are about to blow up, or because you live with them 24 hours you feel like every little thing that they do is wrong.  Some car rides are even worse because they could be extremely long.   I am just happy I was not stuck with my family in a car for 12 hours.

The movie Divergent is a great movie, and bases it’s a story of the main character, Tris.  The movie starts with the structure of the government.  At first, it all seemed perfect, each faction had their own behavior, which helped them in society.

Tris Prior is a sixteen-year-old girl that lives in Chicago.  At the age of sixteen people are put through aptitude tests and get to choose which faction they want to live in for the rest of their life.   Tris is sixteen she has to make the choice Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Amity, or Candor.  Tris starts out in Abnegation with her family at the choosing ceremony both her and her brother switch out of Abnegation, Tris into Dauntless, her brother into Erudite.  The book is when we are introduced to Tris, follows her on her journey into the factions and out of them.

Tris is a hero because she is brave, smart, selfless, and determined.  These traits make her a hero because they show traits that are valued in our modern-day society.  Tris’s stereotypical bravery is shown through Dauntless, but she also shows bravery through loving and supporting people unconditionally even if it puts her in danger.  One example of Tris’s bravery is when Four is put under simulation by Erudite; he comes at her with all his brute force and she does not hit, she simply keeps saying reassuring words.  Tris is also smart and the example of this is being able to survive as a divergent in a world where they are hunted.  The acts of selflessness that Tris exemplifies include when she almost sacrifices herself to save Abnegation.  Tris is determined because throughout the whole book she doesn’t give up there may be some faulty moments, but she keeps fighting.

In Divergent, they attempt to fix this by instituting a Faction system, each faction blaming a different reason for the government’s failure. There are five factions, Dauntless, Amity, Candor, Erudite, and Abnegation. The factions all have different roles to play in society, such as Abnegation, a selfless faction, running the government, the selflessness of them allows there to be no bias or corruption.

In Conclusion, although a faction system seems uncorrupted, the different ideas of each faction will, in turn, lead to an argument, which will lead to much bigger issues. The best way, I believe, to avoid such a conflict is to not have such a system, to begin with, to avoid the problem before the problem exists. .

Dream House:

Have you imagined what you want your Dream House to look like?  Well, I sure have been.  I will tell you, that if I had lots of money this is exactly what it would look like.

The first thing I will tell you about is the kitchen.  I would want my kitchen to give off cabin vibes.  I would like it to have nice wooden pieces and a beautiful island with cupboards on the sides of it and beautiful lights hanging from the ceiling.  Iw ould still want my kitchen to be light, so I would have beautiful white windows and the island lights hanging from the ceiling.  Off the side of the kitchen, I would want to have a beautiful dining room, with the same style as the kitchen.  Have you ever seen a gorgeous double sink?  That is exactly what I would need, along with a beautiful silver fridge.

In my Drem House, I would want my living room to have a dazzling fireplace and a TV above it.  I don’t really like love seats or rocking chairs.  I would definitely have to have a wrap-around couch.  I would also have to have a middle centerpiece in my living room.  On either side of the TV and fireplace, I would have nice tall windows so it would not be so dark.

My Dream House would have about 5 bedrooms, in each bedroom I would want a bathroom and a walk-in closet, but for two of the bedrooms, I would want to connect the bathroom and closet.  In the master sweet, I would want a massive bathroom with his and her sinks, a big tub, and a shower.  I would also have to add a vanity area too.  The walk-in closet in the Master would be so big, there would be a section for my husband and section for me.  I would also have to have a fireplace and Tv just like the living room as well.  The master sweets bed would be a king-size with a beautiful headboard and a nightstand on either side of the bed.  I would also have a small chair in the bedroom just for decorating purposes.

If I have the money to build a house like this I would.  You would probably never see me come out of my house ever again.  I think it is really important to have a home that you love, and that you want to stay in for the rest of your life because your kids can group in them and have a lot of memories.   Over-all this would definitely be my Dream House.

The Car of my Dreams.

Oh my Goodness!  Have you ever look at a car and think ” that is the one”?  Well, let me tell you I think that every time I see a Jeep Wrangler.  Most of my friends think that they are the ugliest thing that they have ever seen, they say that it looks like a square.  I disagree, I think that Jeeps are the coolest, and let me tell you why.

The first reason I think that Jeeps are the best is their durability.  Jeeps were designed to be “off-road vehicles”.  The Jeep is able to with-stand bumpy roads and big rocks and tight turns.  I think that a Jeep that is able to with-stand astray and bumpy roads would be a perfect fit for me.  An offroad vehicle not only is fun for me because I like being a crazy driver and driving to cool and unique places that not many people go to.  Having a Jeep would be fun because it could travel with my friends and family on a highway or to a city but I could also go into the “deep unknown” and learn a little bit more about the world.  If you think about it, it is a two in one type of vehicle becue, most vehicles are only made for smoother roads, but a Jeep is and can be used for both.

If I got a Jeep the first thing I would do design it how I would want it to be.  I would first get a Jeep that is black and has a total of 4 doors.  As much as I like Jeeps I am not all for the white with 2 door type thing.  If I got a black Jeep I would make sure it would always be washed, so it would always be lookin’ sharp.  The interior of my “dream car” would look really cool.  Now let’s be honest it would only look cool if I was rich enough to afford all the things I would want in it.  I would be colour changing lights around the whole inside of the car.  I would also want the light to be around the steering wheel and around the key whole.  In my Jeep, I would want new seat covers and new feet mats.  I would want the seat covers to be neon pink and I would also want the foot mats to be neon pink as well.  I would also have to add some key chains around the mirror too because who does not like a little bit extra.

My jeep would definitely have an engine that could go really fast. I don’t know how fast I would want it to go, but it would be fast.  You are probably thinking “you know that you could get pulled over by the police right” and yes, I know that I could get pulled over, but nothing is illegal unless you to get caught.  In the summertime, I would want to take off the door of my Jeep I think it would be really cool because everyone needs some wind in their life.

Overall, I would probably die if I ever got a Jeep, let alone was able to design it like how I wanted it to look like.  I think that Jeeps are a great car to cruise around in and I would be so much fun to own one.

#5 Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow

What do you know about Helen Keller?  Well, what I know is that she was an American author, political activist, and lecturer.  She was the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.  Helen Keller passed away on June 1, 1968.  Helen Keller was a very important person to people with disabilities, Keller showed that Deaf and blind people deserved respect.  She helped support various Deaf-Blind programs.  Helen inspired people with disabilities because she was persistent.

What was Helen Keller’s sources of strength and joy?  I think that it is easy to put on a “fake smile” and pretend life is okay.  Sometimes we have to look at the bigger picture and think to ourselves “life is not always full of happiness”, but we can’t always be sad.  Sometimes you have look at the bright side of life.  It may not be so bright but, you can look around and be grateful for what you have.  For Helen Keller that was easy, she retained her happiness by always placing stock in remaining an optimist.  More importantly, Helen believed pessimism to be dangerous, never allowing herself to lose hope.

How was Helen Keller able to stay so positive while being deaf and blind?  Helen Keller, long before our era of “positive thinking” and decades before any scientific evidence would appear on the health benefits of optimism, the remarkable Helen with love and grace was writing about optimism as a life philosophy.  Helen source of staying positive was to write, her writing inspired people to stay positive.  After years of voice coaching, and tremendous concentration, Helen was able to speak. During one early lecture, however, Helen began to lose her composure and lost control over the tone of her voice. realising this, Helen ran crying off stage. Yet, Helen did not let this event, unthinkable to many, stop her. Just moments later, she walked back on stage and continued her lecture. For the rest of her life, Helen gave thousands of lectures all over the world.

Throughout her life, Helen believed it was her lot in life her “sacred duty” to share her optimism with others. In her book on optimism, Helen wrote, “If I am happy in spite of my deprivations, if my happiness is so deep that it is a faith, so thoughtful that it becomes a philosophy of life, if in short, I am an optimist, my testimony to the creed of optimism is worth hearing.”  Helen knew what she was made to do and she did it, she did not listen to what other people told her to do, she stuck to her mind.

In conclusion, Helen Keller is a very inspirational person and she has greatly effected other peoples lives.  She will always be remembered, and I loved learning more about her and what she really did to make people happy.
