Obese children will die younger than their parents

Filed under: In The News, english 9A — csommer @ 3:56 pm

Twenty-five per cent of Canadians ages two- seventeen are over weight or obese. Canada now has so many fast food restaurants and junk foods that people are not eating, as they should. Physical activity is no longer important and this is leading to health problems and early deaths. Organizations are now working hard to stop the trend toward increasing obesity levels among Canadian children by 2010 and decrease the levels by at least 25 per cent by 2020.

I think healthy eating and exercise are the two most important ways to live a good life. Fast food restaurants should be closed down or made much, much healthier so we can solve this problem. Being healthy not only helps your health but also gives you self-confidence and a love for life. Being barbie girl skinny is not healthy either I feel that a good healthy body is wonderful no matter what size you end up.

For the first time ever surveys are coming out saying that children will die before their parents. This is a terrible and unnatural occurrence that we need to change as fast as possible. No parent deserves to see his or her child die before him or her and the government is working hard for an answer to this problem.

  1. I think that you made some good points in your paragraph and i agree with you mostly. The part I don’t agree with is taking out all the fast food resturants. Some are not all that bad for you and when you are in a rush they are great to have.

  2. Thats a pretty good paragraph chantal. It’s disgusting the amount of food obese kids eat. It’s no wonder they die at an early age. I hope more kids can see the dangers of over eating. Good-job Chantal.

  3. Good post, it seems people are not getting the food and excercise they need to be healthy. I’m glad they are trying to change this, and agree that fast food restaurants really need to improve on their foods. You made many good points and the grammar and spelling seems to check out very well.
