It was a typical early morning
For my auntie Vickie at least
Jogging in the park at 6:00am
On her daily run you see
She was jogging in the warm brisk air
When she noticed a woman alone
On a bench by herself how unusual
Thought my auntie to herself
She recognized the women
Though she couldn’t see her face
So she slowed down to a stop
And walked to over to say hey
As she called out hello
The women turned around
And my auntie’s mouth dropped open
For Oprah Winfrey was sitting there
Stuttering to say a word
Oprah just smiled
And invited her to sit by her
And chat for a while
Starting to relax they talked there hearts away
The happiness my auntie was feeling
was more than she can explain
Because Oprah was her role model
As she smiled and said goodbye
She ran all the way home
As she reached the door
She thought back to whom she had just met
Looking at her family as she walked in the door
She jumped up and down
And started to tell them who she just met
And of the talk they had shared
My auntie Vickie will never forget
The day she met Oprah Winfrey
For that was the day her dream came true
And a day she would never forget
Petra Johnson was 19 years old and lived in a mansion just outside the University of Massachusetts with her twin sister Francesca. Though living out in the real world Petra still lived off her father’s credit cards and got everything they ever wanted. Confident and very high on herself Petra was the happiest girl alive until May 11, 2007.
Francesca had a conference in Venice, Italy where she took off for a month.
“I’ll miss you so much”, sobbed Francesca, “How will I ever live without our daily after school spa treatments”.
“You’ll be fine, and don’t forget to write everyday”, replied Petra. Hugging eachother they said their goodbyes. As Petra sulked home she noticed a homeless person on the side of the road begging for money. This gave her the shivers, “Why doesn’t the government kick them out of our city, those bums are so gross and make my city look bad”.
Later that day Petra had received her first letter from Francesca. Extremely exited to hear from her so soon she decided to take the postcard to school to share with all their friends.
Dear Everybody…
Being in Venice for a conference made me realize how lucky I am to live so close to beautiful cities like Venice and how unlucky I am to be so far away from wonderful people like you all….
I miss you!!!
A big hug to everybody in S.C.
Francesca
It was exam season and Francesca was supposed to fly out at 5:00am that morning so she could write her first algebra exam the next morning. Hearing nothing from her Petra was very worried as she stared at her algebra textbook on the desk. Petra had made her sister promise to call her the moment she was at the airport so Petra knew she was safe. Realizing she should be flying home at that moment Petra could feel it in her heart that something was wrong.
Exactly one hour later Petra was on a flight to Venice with a highly qualified investigator. Petra swore to Francesca she would always keep her safe and she would never go back until she found out where her sister was.
Arriving at the Venice airport Petra looked out the window and saw an amazing sight. Venice was beautiful and as investigator Tonar drove down the streets Petra saw a place the caught her breath. There was old, broken down buildings with palm trees surrounding them. If you were in the buildings you would have seen the most amazing view of the ocean waves as they hit the sides of the rocks, swaying the boats back and forth. Watching this place Petra realized that she could easily be happy there in the old building for she doesn’t need the mansion she’s always had.
All day Petra, and Mr. Tonar asked people questions and tried to find clues. Deciding to split up Mr. Tonar when to visit the police station and Petra to the Venice National Hospital.
“Excuse me, I’m looking for a Francesca Johnson, have you seen her”, asked Petra?
“Oh yes, sweetie may I ask who you are in relation to Miss Johnson”, replied the nurse.
Petra’s heart felt like it stopped beating as the nurse said she was there.
“Yes, I’m her sister”, whispered Petra, “ May I ask what happened”?
Sitting down with the nurse she explained how Francesca had gotten into an accident earlier and they had, had no contact of her family. She was in a coma and the doctors felt she was never going to come out.
Sobbing Petra ran into the room where her sister lay. Starring at Francesca lying on the bed attached to machines broke her heart. Dropping to her knees she prayed for the first time.
“God, what did I do wrong, what did I do to deserve this, I need her”, exclaimed Petra. At that moment Petra realized that for the first time in her life she would not get what she wanted. Closing her eyes she held Frans hand and knew this was to be the last time she was to see her.
Francesca later passed away and Petra flew home. As she sauntered back to her University mansion she saw the homeless man again begging for money. This time though Petra stopped and turned to him. Pulling out her wallet she handed him all the money she had on her and leaned over and whispered.
“Take this money and go live a good life, don’t take advantage of anybody and find love because you never now when you’ll lose the one you love the most”.
From the day Francesca died Petra lived a loving life with no greed and was known for her donations to thousands of charities around the world.

It was the day before my mother’s birthday
And she was out in the park
When my Auntie Maurren arrived
She let herself in
Turned on the lights
And realized she needed a cake
While she was waiting for it to bake
She sang her favorite song
The song I’ll always remember her by
Like the lullaby that puts me to sleep
Looking around she noticed the kitchen sink was full
Doing the dishes and cleaning the floor
She made herself at home
With a bang my mom came through the door
Looking up a smile came upon her face
And she ran to give Maureen a hug
Together they ate the homemade cake
And cleaned up the kitchen mess
And that was the day when they remember
The kitchen being blessed
