Commandments of the Church

There are 10 commandments but there is an additional five that are just from the Catholic Church.  In Canada there are two holy days of obligation sometimes do not fall on a Sunday and those two days are Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God and Christmas.  For the first one, it says that you should attend Mass every Sunday and on Holydays of obligation t rest.  The next one says that you shall confess your sins at least one’s a year and what that is trying to tell us is that we should go get forgiveness from the Lord and get rid of everything bad and start over.  You shall receive the sacrament of the Eucharist at least once during the Easter season.  It says you shall take the body and blood from christ during the time of Easter which is Lent and consider and to remember what he did for us so that we could live life.  You shall observe the days of fasting and abstinence established by the Church.  It tells us that we should be giving up something that we like and crave and give it up for a bit because Jesus went without food for forty days out in the desert so we should be able to g without one kind of food for that period of time as well.  And the last Church Commandment is you shall help to provide for the needs of the Church.  This one I don’t really understand but what I think it is telling us is that we should be helping the church in any form or way that it needs so that it will be successful in the end and it will a nice place to be.
