I just got the Alberta Transfer Guide for the next year. So what is this large book? It is the official guide of how courses transfer between post-secondary schools in Alberta. If you take English at Lakeland this book will tell how your courses are accepted at the University of Alberta or Grant MacEwan. It can be helpful in planning your future steps. It is also available online at www.acat.gov.ab.ca.

I just received this email. Take a look, it is something you may want to consider for your post-secondary planning.
Greetings,
Red Deer College is currently accepting applications for the Pre - Trades Electrician Certificate Program that is running July 17/06 - Nov. 3/06.
This is an excellent program offering students a look into the trade of an Electrician. The first 12 weeks of the course cover all of the essential elements that an indentured apprentice would cover in their first year of theory training, and also includes an extra two weeks of hands on practical training. In addition, students learn employability skills (resume writing, interview skills, etc.) plus first aid, CSTS, and WHMIS. The final four weeks of the program are dedicated to work placement with an employer with the chance of receiving a full time job as an indentured electrical apprentice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to receive basic training in the electrical field, and become an indentured electrical apprentice. The course is funded by the government which has led to decreased tuition cost that in the past was more than four times the cost it is now.
Pre-Trades Programs are ideal for students that are finishing their high school years, thinking of entering the work force, and to have a chance at entering into an excellent trade.
Please see the attached information package for details on this Pre-Trades Electrician course or any of the other Pre-Trades courses offered at Red Deer College. Please contact Red Deer College at (403) 342-3400, toll-free 1 (888) 732-4630 or by e-mail at inquire@rdc.ab.ca for full details or registration information.
.
Sincerely,
Chad Cosby
