The Alberta Cross Cancer Institute is offering a program to train students to become Radiation Therapists. The program is 28 months long and starts in August. The cost of the program is between $7000 and $8000 including books, tuition and exams. The education requirements are:
- Successful completetion of 30 credits of post-secondary education that must include:
- English - 3 credits
- Physics - 6 credits
- Psychology/Sociology - 6 credits
- Anatomy & Physiology - 6 credits
- Statistics - 3 credits

The University of Alberta offers Academic Excellence Awards to grade 12 and 11 students. Students in grade 11 who missed the June 15th deadline and are now in grade 12 can still apply. You must have an average of 80% or higher and must be planning to attend the UofA in Sept. of 2007.

If you are under 25 years old you can join the United Farmers Association under their Advantage 25 program. It is free. You receive patronage dividends and there are scholarships available. For more information call 1.877.258.4500. Some information is available in the counseling office.

The office now has the new information about the Page Program at the House of Commons. A page is a student who assists the Members of Parliment by carrying messages, documents and other items as the house is in operation. They work a minimum of 15 hours and it is coordinated with your university schedule. This means you must go to college in the Ottawa area.
You must also:
- have an overall average of 80%
- have a superior knowledge of English and French

Rural students have a new bursary available to them. It offers up to $1000. You apply for this money as part of your student financing application. There is no deadline for the bursary.

The new calendar for Athabasca is in. They are known as “Canada’s Open University” since most of the programs and courses can be done online or by distance education. This institution is the one that Premier Klein is using to finish up his Masters program.
