- You should have heard from the places you applied to. Contact them if you haven’t.
- Make your decision about what institution you are going to go to. Contact them.
- If you plan on living off-campus, start arranging for living accomidations.
- If you have been accepted by an institution you may be able to register for classes.
- Make sure to have your student loan applications in by the end of June. The sooner the better!
- Check for other scholarships:
- Dr. Ernest & Minnie Mehl Scholarship deadline is June 1st.
- Premier’s Citizenship Award – must be nominated by June 15th
- Aboriginal Health Careers Bursary – deadline is May 15th
- Academic Excellence award for students going to University of Alberta and in Grade 11 – deadline is June 15.
- APEGGA University Entrance Scholarship for students going into engineering deadline is July 15
- Challenge the Experts – for students in gr. 11 and 12 – essays must be submitted by July 1st
- Believing in Greatness – for students in gr. 11 and 12 – essays must be submitted by Sept. 30th
- Anna & John Kolesar Memorial Scholarship – deadline is July 1st
- Boys and Girls Clubs of Alberta Scholarship – deadline is July 1st
- Steam-Flo and Master-Flo Scholarship – deadline is July 31st
- Grade 11 Merit Award for students planning to go the the University of Lethbridge – deadline is June 30.
- C. A. MacLean Journalism Bursary – deadline is May 31st.
- Monsanto Canada Opportunity Scholarship – students from an agriculture or forestry family with plans to enter farming or forestry – deadline mid. May
- Petroleum Society has scholarships available for students pursuing science or engineering related to the petroleum industry. Deadline is August 31st.
- Bill Kehler Memorial Award for students interested in broadcasting or agriculture or students in professional rodeo – deadline is beginning of Sept.
- The Cohenights Arts Society sponsors two annual scholarships ($1113.50
and $556.50, respectively) for high school students to study at the Teen
Video Intensive I and/or Teen Video Intensive II at Red Deer College.
