Who is Jesus?
Who is Jesus Christ? It’s Jesus, not the argument, that is important. Who is he? There’s the puzzle for everyone. Jesus suffered and died on the cross for our sins so we can be sinless in the eyes of God. Sal and Chris had a conversation about who Jesus was and they also talk about what Christianity truly means. Jesus is both 100% man and 100% God. Jesus is the son of God and that makes him 100% man. The argument is now Who Jesus is? And not if he whether exist or not.
We discuss about only the ones who lived in the same era as Jesus can truly know who Jesus is and of course they is the bible for the evidence about Jesus. Jesus was 100% human but without sin. As we humans don’t know what Jesus was like but there are some spots in the bible. Jesus only knows how to love so that’s all he can do is love. An example of Jesus showed love and good suffering is when he suffered and died on the cross for us. When he suffered and died for us shows that how good Jesus is.
In the bible it might tell us about Jesus’s personality, it shows how he was. Sal and Chris discussed about who really Jesus is in the bible. As Christians or non-christian we are able to seek honesty because we are what’s called the “honest seeker”. By Chris’s believes, we are able to be honest and not be afraid about Jesus’s judgement. Matthew 5:8 it says, “Blessed are the pure and heart, for they will see God.” It means that to be always be honest to yourself and others. Don’t run away from the truth. Even if we question about his existences you always need to be honest to God.
How can I pray if I don’t believe? The answer to that question is to be honest. We are all honest seeker, so honesty is key in order to seek truth. Jesus is honesty, so being honest should be easy. We can always pray to show our honesty and love towards Jesus. During the reading, Chris tells Sal about Jesus’s existence and Sal complimented Chris, but Chris replied that he doesn’t need compliment but rather honesty. Our love from Jesus is different love from others. When we love Jesus it’s always going to be in our hearts, but when we love others that love could be broken but with Jesus it’s forever going to be embodied to our soul.
In the end, we just have to be honest to yourself and to God. We are what it’s called honest seeker. In the short story Chris and Sal had a honest discussion about who Jesus was and they were able to share different points of view, Peter Kreeft truly showed the message through both characters.
