Luke 10:38-42 Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to what he was saying.  Mary sat listening to the lord while Martha (mary’s sister) did work. Martha wanted mary’s help to do the jobs but she was listening to Jesus.  Martha asked Jesus for his help to tell Mary to help her do her work but Jesus tells her that Mary chose the best choice, to listen to Jesus. Mary was listening to Jesus but Martha was too distracted to listen. Martha wanted God to fix her problems but Mary would sit and listen to God rather than help Martha.

John 11:5-6   Lazarus grows ill and Jesus stays with him for 2 days while Mary and Martha leave. Jesus loved them all and felt the need to stay longer for Lazarus because he was sick. Jesus loved all three of them and felt the need to stay with Lazarus because he was very ill and the other two were not so he left them to stay with him.  He stayed two days longer so he was there for Lazarus. Jesus’s attitude towards Martha, Mary, and Lazarus is that he loved them all and he even stayed two days because he was ill and didn’t want him to be alone. Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus and when he found out that Lazarus was ill he stayed for 2 days because he didn’t want to be left alone.

John 11:20-22 Martha went to see Jesus and Mary stayed home.  Martha was then upset with Jesus because Lazarus had died. Martha blames God for Lazarus dying. I don’t think that Martha has a good relationship with God or she wouldn’t blame him. Martha’s faith is not based on logic was based on just her opinion, it would not make sense if someone is not there and someone dies that the person who is not there it’s their fault. Martha’s faith was based on that she had lost her trust in God and she blames him for letting Lazarus for dying.  I think she had a good relationship with him until he died and then now she doesn’t have a good relationship because of blaming him for letting Lazarus die. Martha’s faith in the lord is based on her relationship with Jesus because she believes that if Jesus was with her brother he wouldn’t have died and she had faith that if he stayed he wouldn’t have died. Lazarus dies and Martha believes if Jesus stayed he would still be alive.

Interests

After I completed taking the survey, it was my interest types is Contractor. That my primary interest types are Realistic and Investigation. The survey results say that I have a strong tendency towards independence or working alone. I do not think that that is true. I feel like I work better with other people. I would like to have a job without lots of paperwork.

Fr. Joy

Fr. Joy is from Kerala, India. He has four brothers and one sister. His sister is a nun who worked at a pediatric hospital. She knew he wanted to be a priest, so she helped him to pursue his dream. He talked about how the schools aren’t very good but the private ones were, but they were expensive. His parents sent him to a private school. He said that they have to pay for medical care in India like they do in the states so the religious groups have hospitals to help the poor people. There are lots of religions in India. He went to university for 14 years for the fine arts and being a priest. It is very hot where he lives. Kerala is very small but there is a lot of people that live there. He sounds like a good priest and his story is interesting. I am excited to meet Fr. Joy.

Motivations

My top motivation factor is independence. That means that I like to make decisions on my own and not have a supervisor or someone telling me what to do. You need the chance to try out your own ideas and won’t shy away from taking responsibility for your own actions.

Knowledge

My survey says that my favorite subject is science. My second is physical education and my third is business. Based on the survey, it says that I might enjoy an occupation in health science This job involves the science of dealing with human and animal health. planning and managing, and providing therapeutic services, diagnostic services, health informatics, support services, research in biology and biotechnology and the development of these and related services. It involves the study and research of health related topics and the application of knowledge to improve health and prevent disease.

The 10 Commandments

The “poor” and the “poor in spirit” are different. The poor means that you do not have very much money or you are struggling to pay for stuff like a home, food, and water. Poor spirit means that you are not putting enough value on helping people who are in need and you take stuff for granted. For example, if you have old clothing that you grew out of, you should not throw it away, but instead, you should donate it to somebody who can not afford to buy them.
