My list of words I have collected in Grade 9:

Individual Identity – how we see ourselves and comes from our personal experiences and interests.

Collective Identity – a sense of belonging shared by a group of people.

Abjure – wear off, and it applies to something you once believed.

Abnegation – When you purposely deny yourself something, especially in favour of the needs of others

Apathetic – the feeling of being bored with what’s going on around you

Protagonist – the main figure or one of the most prominent figures in a real situation.

Baptism  – a ceremony or occasion at which baptism takes place.

Absurd – (of a person or a person’s behaviour or actions) foolish; unreasonable.

Hubris – excessive pride or self-confidence

Pain – physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury.

Rumble – take part in a street fight between gangs or large groups.

Fierce – having or displaying an intense or ferocious aggressiveness.

Dying – gradually ceasing to exist or function; in decline and about to disappear.

Faint – (of a sight, smell, or sound) barely perceptible

Rush – dash toward (someone or something) in an attempt to attack or capture them or it.

Existential Crisis – An existential crisis is a moment at which an individual questions the very foundations of their life: whether this life has any meaning, purpose, or value.
