Rutherford Scholarship

The scholarship is name “Rutherford” because it was named in honour of Alexander Rutherford. Rutherford was known for his strong support of public education, especially in the University of Alberta, and his active involvement in community affairs.

This scholarship was made to recognize and reward academic achievement of grade 12 students and encourage the to go onto post-secondary studies, and the value is up to $2,500.

The grade 12 requirements for this scholarship are average of 75% or higher in 5 courses, English 30-1 or 30-2, and any 2 of the following courses: Mathematics 30-1, 30-2 or 31, Science 30, Social Studies 30-1 or 30-2, Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30.
