The Rutherford is a scholarship, Alberta students from grades 10 to 12 can apply for and the recipients receive a scholarship. The scholarship can get you anywhere from $300 – $2,500. The student has to finish High School with an above 75% average the higher the average the more money. Students can apply once their official high school transcript marks are available and once they are enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies. Eligibility includes: one of your parents has to be a resident of Canada for at: least one year, you as a student have had to live in Alberta for one, and for that year your parent or legal guardian must be living in Alberta for that year before you apply. This scholarship can help many students get a head start paying for accommodation for one year, their books, or covering the cost of tuition they will need for their post-secondary education.
