Passchendaele Review

Even though I didn’t see this movie it sounds like I have missed a historically romantic movie. From what I hear this sounds like a very good and interesting movie. This movie is about the battle Passchendaele in World War 1 of 1917 and about a solider named Sergeant Michael Dunne that is badly injured and is sent back to Calgary to get re-coopered from his injuries. Then he meets a wonderful nurse, Sarah, she helps him in his time of need and he falls in love with Sarah. Sarah’s brother David wants to go to fight in Passchendaele, but he has bad asthma, so Sergeant Michael Dunne goes back to help and protect Sarah’s brother David. When you put two different genres together in this instance a war and a love story together is cliché because you love someone and you wanna go back to the war risking your life, which is not a bad thing, and your lover crying not wanting you to go and crying thinking of you and just can’t stop.

  3. Thank you Kyle, I now understand what the movie is about. You have made it very clear that if someone went away to war their lover would cry, and just wouldn’t be able to stop.

  5. With Sargent Micheal Dunn in the war protecting Sara’s brother David the poor guy with Asthma would have died form the asthma attack he had during the battle. This movie was really good considering that the reason we went to see the movie was of a social studies reason. Great post kyle.

  7. The movie wasn’t that great in my opinion because it was more of a love story. Its clear that when your in love with someone they don’t want you to leave especially to the war. Considering your life would be at risk.
