Commandments of the Church

The Commandments of the Church are a set of rules that you must obey if you are a true follower and believer in the Lord. These rules state that you must always participate in Holy days and other events of the Lord whenever they are happening, such as :

  • Receiving the Eucharist at least once during the Easter season.
  • Confessing your sins at least once a year.
  • Helping fill the needs of the church.
  • Attending Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of obligation.
  • Observing the days of fasting and abstinence(from meat, but not fish) established by the church.

Now a days we have 5 Commandments of the Church but in the earlier days(1400’s) there was many more, some are similar to the ones we have know and some are different, such as:

  • Observing certain feasts.
  • Keeping the prescribed fasts.
  • Attending Mass on Sundays and Holy days.
  • Confessing once a year.
  • Receive Holy Communion during paschal time.
  • Pay tithes.
  • Abstain from any act upon which an interdict has been placed for excommunication.
  • Refrain from any act interdicted under the pain of excommunication.
  • Avoid association with the excommunicated.
  • Not to attend Mass or other religious functions celebrated by a priest living in open concubinage.

Although there were lots of the Commandments of the Church in the 1400’s, there were fewer as the years went by. In the 1500’s there was only four, these commandments were:

  • To fast at certain prescribed times.
  • Pay a tithe.
  • Go to confession at least once a year.
  • Receive Holy Communion at Easter.

The Holy Days of Obligation

  • All Sundays of the Year
  • January first- The Feast of Mary
  • 40 Days After Easter Sunday- Ascension Thursday
  • August 15-Assumption of Mary
  • November 1- All Saints Day
  • December 8-The Feast of the Immaculate Conception
  • December 25- Christmas

The two Holy Days of Obligation that do not fall on a Sunday are:

  • Christmas on December 25 and The Solemnity of the Mother of God on January 1.

Motivations

My Primary Motivation is Support and my Secondary Motivation in Recognition.  Support is helping others so helping them make positive decisions and being with then through difficult times. Recognition is being recognized for a good thing you have done to help others. Motivation can be even motivating yourself by setting a goal for you to accomplish throw out a certain period of time or even just life in general, for example my goal for volleyball season is to get all my serves over during a tournament and even in practice, if I work my hardest and take time to perform to the best of my ability I will have a greater chance of accomplishing this task.  Motivation is a key part in a person’s life, if your not motivated you will not go anywhere with you life, you will probably end up living in your parents basement watching T.V all day eating chips and pop which is opposite of what a motivated person would do. If you were motivated you would be getting a degree in some type of subject to be able to complete what you want to do for the rest of your life and eating healthy and only occasionally sneaking a treat. You can move mountains if you stay motivated! Recognition the reward you receive when you help others and say motivated, like in middle level you get recognized for your great efforts and participation in class work and you willingness to help others for example this is one of the thing that recognition is. Being able to exceed expectations of those around you is a way to get recognized by your peers. Recognition is also known as a form of acknowledgement of something like if your a professional piano player you will most likely get acknowledged and if you are a student that uses post it notes to stay organized and jot notes down during class discussions to remember things, you would probably get recognized for that by your teacher.

Knowledge

My top subject area is Physical Education. I love all subjects in school which has given me the goal to become some kind of teacher and teaching Physical Education would fall in that category. My second an third subject areas are Technical Trades and Languages. Technical trades in my perspective would be electrical work, carpentry, plumbing, hairstylist, welding, gas fitting, baker, and millwright. Languages in my perspective was be walking through the hallway at school listening to all the students speaking filipino, french and other varieties of languages. It would also be visiting my grandparents and listing to them and they have a conversation with my dad in danish (they only do that when they are wanting to tell secrets). Physical Education is being able to work effectively and efficiently during different physical activities, it may also be eating healthier or going on walks to help you have a healthy body and mind. Professions in physical education would be a school gym teacher, swimming instructor, ref or coach for big name sports teams, school sports coach and nutritionists.

Interests

I am the Sensei which means i am drawn towards knowledge, both learning and shearing. Sensei’s are patient, friendly, and generous, but often prefer to work independently as they have a strong focus on learning and understanding the tasks that come for them to accomplish to the best of their ability. They are known to end up completing studies in advanced academic degrees and specializing in areas they are drawn towards. Sensei’s are also very advanced with knowledge and are good at teaching it to or helping others with it. There are 2 main interest traits Investigating and Social. Artistic, Realistic, Enterprising, and Conventional are other traits but do not have as much of an effect as the main two. I am 54% Investigative which means i like working with theories, concepts, information and ideas. Curiosity, reasoning, logic, research, analisis and science are typically activities performed by the investigative interest. Social occupations revolve around people like assisting, teaching, healing, and other services. I am 50% Social and i can relate to this one because ever since i was a young child i’ve wanted to be a teacher of pediatric doctor.

I am 40% Artistic, 27% realistic, 23% enterprising, and 21% conventional. Being artistic requires the skill of self-expression, creativity and usually future work that can be done without a clear set of rules. This one requires an environment where flexibility, variety and Challenge are excepted. Being realistic is completing hands on activities usually involving jobs with animals, plants, materials, tools and machines. These jobs usually don’t involve a lot of paperwork. Being in a  enterprising occupation usually involves the world of business. They regularly provide starting and driving new projects. Conventional occupations focus on information and tool to analyze, organized and understand certain information. This may include activities such as creating plans, processes, and routines.
