Rosiness 0r Gloominess: On veiwing the world

We probably all have moments where we think we are gonna do very well and we end up failing. This can happen with a test that you think you studied hard enough for or a hockey game where you trained hard for. These types of things always happen in life but the question is why.

Success results from a combination of Talent and desire. If failure happens that means that you were missing one of those. Sometimes you could have those and still be unsuccesful. This means that you are missing optimism. Optimism is hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something. If you do not belive that you can do it you probably wont be able to.

For me whenever you think about how this test is going to be really hard and you aren’t going to pass you probably won’t. Last year when I was writing my math final exam I was so worried because I struggled with math and I thought the test was going to be really hard and I ended up getting in the forties which brought my overall mark down to a sixty five. The reason that I got this mark was because I didnt belive that I could do good on it. In lacrosse last year we played the best team in the league and we did’nt think we could do it and we talked down on ourselves so we ended up losing the game.

When we don’t have the optimism for something we fail. In our school so many of the students including myself lack optimism. There are lots of kids that have talents in our school and they have the desire to do something in life but the optimism is missing.

This is why we need to start to belive in ourselves and maybe we will be able to accomplish better things in life.

Dream House

There are many big, fancy, and amazing houses in the world. Sure I would like to live in one of those but honestly cleaning that thing would be hard and I really don’t want to pay a maid to clean my mess. There are smaller houses that would be good for three people and they are pretty fancy.

I would want my house by a lake so that it is really quiet and peaceful. A lake that I would really want my house to be at would be Lake Tahoe which is located between Calafornia and Nevada who both share its shoreline. It is crystal clear so you can see right to the bottom. I would love to wake up every day and go for a swim in that lake.

The inside of my house would have a living room, three bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, two bathrooms ( one in the master bedroom), and a few storage closets. All of the counters would be white marble and the cuboards would be painted white. All of the appliances would be white as well. All of the furniture( beds, couches, dressers, nightstands, tables, and coffe tables) would be white as well. The floor would look like wood and it would be gray.

On the outside all of the doors would be glass and the deck would just be made from wood. there would be a small pool and hotub in the front yard with a couple of lawn chairs. I would have a shop in the back to keep my boats, quads, and dirt bikes. I woul also have a sea-doo. In the back by the shop I would have a fireplace.

This is what my dream house would look like. I would have lots of white because when the light shines in through the windows it doesn’t show all of the dust as much as the darker colors do.

The Car of Your Dreams

There are a lot of vehicles that I really like and would be a dream for me to have. These include the 2019 Lambourghini Adventor and the 2020 Bughatti Chiron but there is one that I would want the most out of these cars. I really want a 2020 Ford Raptor. These trucks are really nice looking and there are many other cool feutures.

On the front of the truck there are large black letters that spell FORD on the grill. I think that this looks really nice on the truck. Even on the back there are the big black letters on the tailgate. I would also get my truck in a lime green wrap which is one of my favourite colors. I like how the truck doesn’t look weird like some of the newer trucks that have came out such as the 2019 Chevy Silverado pick up truck.

On the Raptor there is a Terain Managment System which is only on the Raptors. this includes seven different driving modes. There is normal, sport, slippery, tow/haul, deep snow, sand, baja, and rock crawl. This makes the truck easy to drive in pretty much any condition that we have.

They have interior features such as:

Identify a Good Read

Dan Stoggard is a thirty-eight year old college basketball player. He plays for the Algonquin Thunder. Dan was a bus driver and he gained a lot of weight. He decided to enroll as a freshman at Algonquin and soon later he joined the basketball team. He was a huge guy who weighed over three-hundred pounds and he wore size 14 jordans. The story “Is it ever too late to pursue a dream” talks about his college basketball career and the struggles he faced.

The quote “I spent a long part of my life not knowing what I wanted to do, or how I wanted to be perceived, or the legacy I want to leave behind,” is said by Stoggard. He proves that he wants to do something with his life. He is in his forties and he is putting a tremendous amount of pressure on his body. “Aging athletes have more time to accumulate injuries, and the compensations to their body are greater.” But their are good things he did with this like”he has also already lost nearly 150 pounds pounds in a 12-month period”

Joe Thomas Sr. made college football history by appearing as a running back for South Carolina State. Thomas at the age of 55 is believed to be the oldest player to participate in a Division I football game. This is another story of a middle aged person playing college sports. Dan Stoddard is younger than Joe Thomas Sr. but when he started was overweight which made this a lot harder on him.

I think that Dan stoddard should keep puruing his dreams but when his health is on the line I feel like that is a time to stop before a serious injury occurs. “I’d love to see where my body can take me,” he said. “But I’m also a realist. Trevor has told me I have a spot on the roster until I don’t want it anymore, but I know the toll it is taking on my body. I know the pain that will come, the possibility of knee and other problems. I just want to know if I am this close [to playing professionally] or this good now, how good would I have been at the age of twenty, if I was training every day? I can keep up with guys half my age — after another six months of training, am I going to be faster? Stronger? I want to keep seeing.” Dan talks about how basketball might affect his career.

I think Dan Stoddard is gonna keep proving people wrong and continue with his dreams. He may be in his forties but he can still use his effort and his determination to show people what he can do.

Time Travel

It would be really cool if time travel was a real thing.  When or if it ever is I would definatily go back to Jan.18,2017 to watch the Oilers vs Panthers. I went with my dad and we sat in fancier seats. There were one hundred people in our area and we had our own private washrooms. Before the game started we got supper which was catered for the people in those seats.

During the first period Conner Mcdavid passed to Zach Kassian who scored. I remember the arena being so loud I had to cover my ears. Yet again in the first period Conner Mcdavid passed to Mark Letestu making it 2-0 for the Oilers.  Late in the period Panthers Jussi Jokinen got s goal. At 1:33 left in the first the Panthers scored another goal to tie it up. At the first intermission we got some snacks that were set out on a table from the caterers. The second period was kind of boring because nobody scored but I still had fun because I love watching hockey. At the second intermission we got desserts but I was too stuffed from the supper and snacks to have any.

In the third period each tema got a goal sending it to overtime. In overtime Conner Mcdavid went on a breakaway did a fancy move and then scored. The goal was challenged because the goalie caught it in his glove but his glove looked like it was in the net. After the refs reveiwed the play they called it a good goal and the building went crazy.

This was probably the funnest game that I have ever been to and I really would like to go back to it.

Teleportation would be really cool. The place where I want to go the most is Vegas. Vegas is a city that is really cool. There is Flyboarding on Lake Las Vegas, a place where you can drive a dream car and there is the NHLs newest editions rink.

Lake Las Vegas is a really cool Lake. The beaches are not open to the public as they are owned by luxiorius clubs. However, you can still rent recreational water gear and a place to go but it costs a bit of money. If teleportation was real Flyboarding would definetly be somewhere where I would go.  If you have never heard or seen flyboarding it is where you are on a hoverboard thing that is attached to a hose. The board sprays water and it makes you float on the hose. You can do cool tricks while in the air but I imagine that it would be a challenge to stay up without practice.

Have you ever wanted to drive your dream car? Well if teleportation was real you would have the chance to. In Vegas there is a place called Drive Vegas Exotics where you can rent a car and get training from an expert and take it to a track. They have everything from Lamborghinis to Mercedes AMG GT R. It is like seven hundred dollars to drive five laps so it is very expensive but I would just teleport into a car already paid for.

The Vegas Golden Knights are the newest addistion to the NHL. They suprised the league making it to the Stanley Cup finals in their first year as a team. The most suprising thing was that pretty much all of their players were rejects from around the league. This brought a lot of hype to the city of Las Vegas. That is part of the reason that I want to go to T-Mobile arena. On Wednsday my favourite team the Edmonton Oilers play Vegas at T-Mobile arena. Thats where I would teleport.

It was a tough decision to pick because there are so many awesome places in the world but Vegas definetly caught my eye because of the awesome hockey, cars ,and water sports. Vegas would be where I would teleport.

Three songs

These songs are ones that i listen too when im just chilling in the car on a road trip. They make me feel good and they are really catchy.

The first song I want to talk about is Baby shark by Pingfong. I have to little brothers one is five and one is four so I have heard this song being played by them over and over again and I know all of the actions to it. The song also turned into a meme.

Let it go was also a really good song that I know all of the words to and I have listened to it quite often. The best song though is definetly Britneys Spears Toxic. This is a good and actchy song.

Favourite poems

  • Ode on a Grecian Urn is a really good poem
  •  “Are sweeter: therefore, ye soft pipes, play on; Not to the sensual ear, but, more endear’d, Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone.”
  • John Keatas wrote the poem and did it really good.
  • Stopping by the woods ona snowy evening is also a good poem
  • It is by Robert Frost
  • “Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here. To watch his woods fill up with snow.”
  • High Flight is a poem about a soldier named John Maggee who died in an accidental mid-air collision
  • Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings”

The awful burden of the unsolved riddles of existence

Have you ever heard of the famous greek philosopher Socrates? Well he gave humans the idea of questioning everything. Father Mike Schmitz also says to question everything. There are some questions that will really make you think and it is impossible today to find the truth to those questions. Some of these questions are a little creepy but also at the same time interesting.

Technology has become a huge part of our lives in the last couple decades. There are times when it can get quite overwhelming after the constant use. It is very uncommon to see a person without a cell phone in their pocket or hands. With new smartphones and gaming systems coming out almost every month, it can be hard to say no to electronics sometimes. Technology seems to have become an addiction to people. If you asked someone to stay away from their phones for a weekend I would bet money they wouldn’t be able to. Our life patterns also involve technology. From alarm clocks to our stoves we use these things almost every single day. Don’t get me wrong though, technology has many great impacts on our lives. Think about having to cook all of your meals without technology, think of getting places without technology.  We all have to ask ourselves is does technology also put a lot of stress on our lives. We should also ask ourselves, do we control technology or does technology control us.

Can you doubt that you exist? This is a question that really involves some thinking. René Descartes, a french scientist and mathematician, believes that to find a truth you have to doubt or push away all other beliefs that you have and start from scratch. This means that you should question every belief you had and start new. But is it that easy to really doubt that you exist? A reason to believe that we do believe exist is because you are thinking about this right now. If you were to not exist how would you be thinking of that theory. Some interesting points have been noted on this by random people. Like what if we are just a group of thoughts at a time and potentially a different person than moments before. Or that we are dreaming from our eternal brain and we just keep dreaming over and over. These theories could possibly lead to the discovery of our existence.

Can computers think? Well in a way they can. Computers do whatever they were designed to do(so that means they do not have free will). In order to be able to think you have to have free will. The answer to this question on google is no they can not think but in a way they can. When you type something in your google browser or safari the computer has to think about what you said. People usually spell things wrong so the computer has to figure out what was said. The computer is programmed to do that but still in a way computers must be able to think somewhat.

These unsolved riddles I guess will not be explained any time soon but they are sure to make your mind stop and really think. From technology controlling us to computers being able to think it is hard to figure out the answers to the ussolved mysteries of existence.

Summary: It is just like what path you want to take when you are older the good one or the bad one

Luke 10:38-42

Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to what he was saying.  Mary sat listening to the lord while Martha (mary’s sister) did work. Martha wanted mary’s help to do the jobs but she was listening to Jesus.  Martha asked Jesus for his help to tell Mary to help her do her work but Jesus tells her that Mary chose the best choice, to listen to Jesus.

Mary was listening to Jesus but Martha was too distracted to listen. Martha wanted God to fix her problems but Mary would sit and listen to God rather than help Martha.

Mary chose to listen and learn to Jesus rather than Martha was distracted and did not want to listen to Jesus.

Mary listened to Jesus to what he had to say rather than help Martha.  I think Mary is going to do nothing to help and listen to God.

John 11:5-6   Lazarus grows ill and Jesus stays with him for 2 days while Mary and Martha leave. Jesus loved them all and felt the need to stay longer for Lazarus because he was sick.Jesus loved all three of them and felt the need to stay with Lazarus because he was very ill and the other two were not so he left them to stay with him.  He stayed two days longer so he was there for Lazarus. Jesus’s attitude towards Martha, Mary, and Lazarus is that he loved them all and he even stayed two days because he was ill and didn’t want him to be alone. Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus and when he found out that Lazarus was ill he stayed for 2 days because he didn’t want to be left alone.

Summary- John 11:20-22 Martha went to see Jesus and Mary stayed home.  Martha was then upset with Jesus because Lazarus had died. Martha blames God for Lazarus dying. I don’t think that Martha has a good relationship with God or she wouldn’t blame him. Martha’s faith is not based on logic was based on just her opinion, it would not make sense if someone is not there and someone dies that the person who is not there it’s their fault. Martha’s faith was based on that she had lost her trust in God and she blames him for letting Lazarus for dying.  I think she had a good relationship with him until he died and then now she doesn’t have a good relationship because of blaming him for letting Lazarus die. Martha’s faith in the lord is based on her relationship with Jesus because she believes that if Jesus was with her brother he wouldn’t have died and she had faith that if he stayed he wouldn’t have died. Lazarus dies and Martha believes if Jesus stayed he would still be alive.

Romans 7:14-23 Who does Paul talk about as he tries to explain law and grace. Paul speaks of sin and how it makes him make the wrong choices and do what he does not want to do. Paul is talking about himself and how he is sinning. The passage talks about how Paul is admitting that he has sinned and that he does not do what he wants to do but what he hates.

Exodus 4:10-17

Exodus 4:10-17 Moses told the Lord to pardon his servants because he has never been eloquent not in the past or since he spoke to them. The Lord said back that he is slow of speech and tough and because Moses complained that he could not speak well, God appointed Aaron as Moses’ “prophet”. At the command of Moses, he took his staff. Then he stretched out his rod to bring on the first three signs. It says that Moses isn’t the best and equal to everyone else. And he wants Jesus to speak to everyone doesn’t matter what’s wrong with them. And that will make his heart happy. What is Aaron’s role? Aaron’s role was to speak for Moses from Jesus.

Acts 8:26-38 The angel told Philip to go south to the road that leads from Jerusalem to Gaza. There he would worship Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. Philip is taken by the Holy Spirit to meet a highly placed Ethiopian court official who is reading Isaiah on the way home from Jerusalem. The Ethiopian asks for and receives baptism as a believer in Jesus as God’s Messiah, promised by Isaiah.

It’s about he said to go to the road south of Jerusalem go to court official of the cadence queen of the Ethiopians. He came to Jerusalem to worship and return home he was reading the prophet Isaiah. He had Philip help him understand the bible. And taught him the good news about Jesus. They found water and said what is to stop him from getting baptized and they stopped and Philip baptized him. Who are the two people in this story? Philip and Eunuch Why does one of them choose to be baptized?.

As they were going along the road, they came to some water; and the eunuch said, ‘Look, here is water! What is to prevent me from being baptized!“He commanded the chariot to stop,” and both of them, Philip and the eunuch, went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.

1 Samuel 16:23- His music is helping to heal the soul of the people and ward the evil through the joint passion of music. He also helped him to see that music can connect people. Who calms Saul and how?David calms Saul by playing the Lyre

2 Chronicles 5:11-14- Priests and musicians gathered to share in the art of music to show their faith in alternative means. What happens right before God’s presence fills the temple? They all gather in song and prayer together to show the lord their devotion and faith

John 1:3-9 – Jesus is described as the beginning of life and all-new creation. Without him, nothing would have been created. There would be no light to overcome the darkness.  John was sent by God to prove to people that he is true.

Mark 13:24-27 – Jesus describes the world in chaos, with the sun going dark. Then he says he will come in his glory, and bring light back to the world. If you’re in the dark, Jesus can bring the light back.

Ezekiel 1: 4-28 – Ezekiel uses images to help understand God.  Ezekiel explained what he saw. He told about the four creatures,  that they had four different heads, and they had 2 wings each. He said they walked in a line with their wings touching and went with the spirit, never turning. Ezekiel also explained about the clouds and wind the creatures were surrounded by.

Exodus 18:13-27

What is moses problem? Moses can’t inquire people about God by himself, he needs help from other people. Who helps him solve it in a logical step by step way?Moses father-in law helps him. People came to Moses to inquire about God. When they have a dispute, they come to me and I decide between one person or another and I make known to them the statutes and instructions of God. His father-in law helped him.

John 11:16

Who has a very matter-of-fact attitude? Thomas

What does he say? Let us also go, that we may die with him

John 20:24-29

Whose need for proof does Jesus understand and accept? Thomas doesn’t believe that Jesus was crucified so he needs proof to believe that it’s true

Luke 5:4-11

When does Peter first begin to understand Jesus? Peter started to understand Jesus when Simon and Peter pulled the nets full of fish into the boat and the boat started sinking.  Peter fell to his knees, saying that Jesus shouldn’t help him because he had sinned. Jesus said to Peter that he was forgiven and that He can teach them about His forgiveness.

Matthew 14:24-33

What does Peter do when he sees Jesus? Jesus appeared to the disciples and said, “Take heart, it is I, do not be afraid”  Peter then answered Jesus and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water”. Peter did not react the same way as the other disciples that saw, and feared Jesus.  Instead, Peter answered Jesus’ question and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” Jesus then said, “Come.” As Peter got out of the boat, he then started walking on the water and came towards Jesus. While Peter was walking towards Jesus, Peter noticed a strong wind, and began to sink he then cried out to Jesus, “Lord save me!” Jesus then immediately reached out his hand and caught him. Jesus then said “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”. When Peter sees Jesus he answers, and follows him out onto the water.

Matthew 17:1-8

What does Peter suggest in this passage? Peter suggests that these mountains are a great place to be, so he says he can make three dwellings for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah.  Peter suggests that these mountains are a great place because the sun lights up Jesus’ face like lanterns, and Jesus talks to them shortly after his clothes became dazzling white.

John 13:3-10

What does Jesus do?  How does Peter respond? This passage is from the time around Jesus’ Passion.  Holy Thursday; when Jesus and His disciples are having the Last Supper in the upper room.  Jesus presents himself to his disciples as a servant, and washes their feet in a basin. When Jesus offers to clean him, Peter responds in a stubborn manner, stating that unless Peter washes Jesus’ feet, Jesus can have no share with him.  Simon Peter continues to say that if Jesus is to clean His disciples, He should not only wash his feet but also his hands and his head.

Based on these passages, which of the intelligences does Peter often use to understand and respond to Jesus?

Based on these passages, I can infer that Peter responds to Jesus with interpersonal intelligence.  Interpersonal intelligence is knowledge derived from social interaction with other people. In the first passage, Peter displays great humility, but Jesus forgave Peter, and offered to teach Peter of his great forgiveness.  This tells us that Peter knows Jesus would have some form of response to his actions, thus further confirming his knowledge of interpersonal intelligence. Passage two further develops Peter’s responses to Jesus. We read of Peter’s response to Jesus’ pleas for him to come out onto the water with him.  Peter comes as Jesus commands him. In passage three, Peter recognizes the presence of others, and offers to make dwellings for them. Passage four shows another act of Peter’s humility, telling Jesus that his feet, hands and head all need to be washed to really be clean.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5  What does Paul say helped reveal the power of the spirit? Paul reveals the power of the spirit by saying he chose not to know nothing among him except for Jesus Christ and him being crucified. He came to the spirit and said this he was in fear. He also asked for his help in what to do.

2 Corinthians

Paul understands that in his grace the law that God has given him is visible.  Which of the intelligence is Paul using in these passages to help people understand God? Paul used fear as his intelligence to face the fears of the spirit.

2 examples of the importance and/or value of musical intelligence are that it can heal the soul and you are able to recognize different pitches.

3 people who are word smart are Ezekiel because

he uses images and explains what Jesus looks like. Another person is Mary because she was a good writer. The last person is Paul. Paul is word smart because he understands the law and he is smart about stuff like reading and writing. 2 people that use logical intelligence are Ezekiel because he can put pictures with words and study them and the second one is Ezekiel uses images to understand god. She expanded to god the animals had different heads and when they walked they touched their wings with there spirit. Ezekiel also expanded about the clouds that the animals were surrounded by.  Matthew 17:1-8, Ezekiel 1: 4-28, Acts 8:26-38 are all passages that talk about spatial intelligence.
