Back to the 80s

Time travel is an incredible thing that I have thought about numerous times. If I could go back I would go back to 1985. One day, in particular, I would go back to,that day is July 13th. Another thing I would like to experience is new coke and seeing the price difference between 1985 and today.

The band Queen is known mostly for their song Bohemian Rhapsody they were one of the many bands that played at live aid. Being part of this historic concert would be a life-changing experience. Since the movie bohemian rhapsody came out and even before that I have loved their songs and the band’s story. Time-traveling back to this time would let me see a personal favorite band from the past. Freddie Mercury died in 1991 but going back and seeing him would be inspiring. Their setlist from Live Aid was Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, Ay‐Oh, Hammer to Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, and This Is the World We Created. Live aid took place in London at Wembley Stadium, England, and the United Kingdom. This historical event was very successful having 72,000 people show. The reason that I want to attend this is that it is an event that will be talked about forever.

Everyone nowadays knows what coke is and has probably heard about new coke that was released in 1985 but what I have always wondered is what did new coke taste like. When new coke came out everyone hated it. The new formula was sweeter than the classic version. Protests broke out about the new version. Coke later went back to the original formula and re-branded it as coke classic. New coke vanished altogether. Therefore my point this generation has never experienced the taste of new coke I would like to go back to 1985 to see what all the fuss is about. Also knowing that the product goes south I would like to see different people’s reactions to trying it the very first time. Including my mom who was ten at the time.

Money as many know is the currency in our society everything has a prize. How is it that 35 years ago everything was so cheap and now it super overprized. In 1985 a dozen eggs cost $0.80 but now it cost about $3.00.Going back in time to experience this big change would make me understand how people lived in 1985. I want to have the experience of prizes back then compared to now. I know what prizes are like now and think it would be very informative to know prizes back then. I might even find out why things back then were so cheap.

Live Aid will be an event in history I will always want to attend. Queens hit song Bohemian Rhapsody I enjoyed and want to witness it being performed live. The new coke would be an adventure to try. Knowing that nowadays things are really expensive compared to in 1985 and experiencing the difference would make me wonder how things changed so much. Time travel is an amazing thing that would be the discovery of a lifetime.
