My book is called Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. It is about taking a chance on life and ignoring an argument that Mrs. glover was faced with. taking care of there beautiful baby girl named Ursula Todd that was almost faced with death right before she could take her first breath awakening and seeing the world as it stands today.
She dies and lives forever almost like a trick or a spell is said that she can live and die for eternity. On that same cold and snowy night, Ursula todd is alive, lets out a lusty wail, and embraces’ upon a life that will be, to say the least, unusual. For she grows up, she dies, repeatedly, in any number of ways.
“A miracle is what Bridget the maid thought upon the arrival of Ursula but As far as mrs. Glover was concerned miracles belong inside the pages of the bible, not amid the carnage of birth. “Maybe she’ll stop at three”, she said.” Now why would she be going and doing that when she has such a lovely healthy baby and there’s enough money in the house for anything she wants.
Mrs. Glover was ignoring an argument, she heaved herself up from the table. Dr.Fellows had already breakfasted- on bacon, chocolate pudding, fried bread and eggs – and left. Men from the village had arrived and tried to dig hid car out and when that failed someone ran for George and he had come to the rescue, riding on the back of one of his big shires. St. George slipped briefly into mrs. glovers mind and hastily slipped out again as being to fanciful. with not inconsiderable difficulty, Dr Fellows was hoisted up behind Mrs.Glover’s son and the pair had ridden off, plowing snow not earth. A farmer had been trampled by a bull, but was alive still. Mrs. Glover’s own father, a dairyman, had been killed by a cow. Mrs. Glover, young but doughty and not yet acquainted with Mr. Glover, had come across her father lying daed in the milking shed
16 YEARS LATER…
“A miracle, says the fellows feller,” Bridget said to mrs.Glover as they toasted the new baby’s arrival over their morning teapot. As far as mrs. Glover was concerned miracles belong inside the pages of the bible, not amid the carnage of birth. “Maybe she’ll stop at three”, she said.” Now why would she be going and doing that when she has such a lovely healthy baby and there’s enough money in the house for anything she wants
After this Mr. Glover( AKA Mr.Winton-Archibald) was calm as every with the baby’s arrival, on the other hand Mrs. Glover wasn’t.
