The Beatitudes: A Visual

The visual I created used the quote “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” Matthew 5: 3. The poor in spirit are those who embrace a voluntary poverty for the sake of the Holy Spirit.  I chose the pictures involving heaven due to the reason that Jesus stated the kingdom of Heaven is for the people who are poor in spirit. Blessed are those who mourn means people who repent and mourn for their sins. God will not turn you away if you come to him mourning.

Motivations

My top motivation factor was achievement. This means I want the chance to put my skills, knowledge and abilities to the test. I need to feel like I’ve accomplished something, maybe even something that will stand the test of time. I always look for ways to feel like I’ve done something. Whether it’s checking something off my to-do list every day.  I am motivated by the opportunity to fully engage the use of my skills, knowledge and abilities.

Who am I? interests

For my interests I got  “The developer.” The two highest interest traits were realistic (at 69%) and enterprising (at 67%).  As a developer I can see the potential in the practical. I enjoy leadership opportunities where I can focus on concrete outcomes.

Realistic occupations involve hands-on activities. They focus on working with plants, animals, materials, tools, and machines. Realistic occupations typically require working outdoors. They do not involve a lot of paperwork or require working closely with others. Some examples of realistic jobs are: Auto mechanic, Medical technician, chef, surveyor, software tester, production associate, HVAC technician, and a logistics analyst

Enterprising this means that I tend to work with people, influence, persuade, lead or manage for organizational goals or economic gain. An enterprising personality type is often a leader who is talented at organizing, persuading and managing. I enjoy money, power, status and being in charge. Some enterprising jobs include: sales and purchasing, legal practice, business administration etc.

Who Am I? Personality.

                                  Who Am I? Personality

I am an ENTP (The Inventor) personality.   This means I tend to be outgoing and feel comfortable in large groups or when working as part of a team.  It also means I need room to explore and to be creative without constraints.  When completing a task, I tend to prefer flexibility and options over concrete goals and deadlines. When faced with a decision, I tend to be more concerned with being fair than with how a decision will affect others.

Part of my personality is extroversion, this means that I am more outgoing and comfortable in large groups.  I enjoy the spotlight and gain energy from being around other people.  I look to others for inspiration and motivation, and often feel isolated when spending time alone for a long period of time.  I also tend to act before thinking and enjoy group work.  The strengths of extroverts are: being capable of quickly forming close associations with others,  communicate easily with a variety of people, very sociable and enjoy spending time around others.

My Information gathering type is intuitive.  This means that I acquire knowledge without recourse to conscious reasoning. I make connections between what I am learning and already know. I’m also abstractive and see patterns and bigger picture ideas. It also means that I am intentive.

My decision making was thinking. I make decisions based on objective criteria and can be perceived as impartial or uncaring. I focus on the final product and am not influenced by personal bias. I tend to be fair and value truth over tact. It also means I am thick skinned and firm with other people.

My lifestyle and structure is perceiving.  This means I postpone decisions to see what other options are. I act spontaneously and do things at the last minute.  I decide what I do as I am doing it instead of making a plan.  I am also open to new information and am able to “go with the flow.”

Who am I learning styles

I am a visual kinesthetic learner according to the survey I just took.  I am an equal balance of all three, with a 34% visual, 34% kinesthetic, and a 32% auditory.  Because I have an equal balance I have to take advantage of all three learning styles.

I am 34% visual learner so that means I learn by sight.  I prefer using images, pictures, colours, and maps to organize information and communicate with others.  I can visualize plans, and outcomes,  I also have a good spatial sense which helps to give me a sense of direction.  I can easily find my way around by using a map or some other kind of direction assisting device.  When focused I tend to do well in a classroom setting.

I am also 34% kinesthetic learner which means I process information best when physically engaged.  It also means I have a hard time learning during traditional school lectures. This is because my body does not engage with the learning because there is no movement.  I need to take frequent breaks and make hand gestures when I talk.  The strengths of being a kinesthetic learner are: good hand eye coordination, quick reflexes, a good motor memory good at sports and a high level of energy.

And lastly I am 32% auditory, which means I learn through listening.  I need to learn through speaking and listening.  I must be able to hear what is being said in order to understand and may have difficulty with instructions that are drawn but if the writing is in a logical order it can be understood. The strengths of auditory learners are: class discussions, learning languages, understanding grammar, telling stories and remembering music and lyrics.
