Journalists to politicians, weightlifters to benches, a dry cleaner to a pair of pants, a basketball defence to an opponent in the backcourt, a publisher to a book. I thought I knew all that I could about the press.
What I didn’t know about a “press” was that it could make a fantastic cookie.
How had I never seen a cookie press before now? I was amazed.
Check out the video and the links.
The gadget is called a Marcato Biscuit Press. The recipe couldn’t be simpler.
Fill the tube of the press. No paper or oil on the pan. Bake at 350°F for about 16-20 minutes. Made 80 cookies in about 90 minutes. We iced them with the decorator tubes of icing that dries quickly and spritzed them with icing sugar and stacked them in a cookie tin between layers of wax paper.
And, yes, they are a treat to eat, too.
