time travel

Travelling back in time would give me the opportunity to meet one of the greatest men in the rodeo world. When travelling back in time becomes a possibility I will choose to go back to the 1980s. During this time Lane Frost was making his way in the rodeo world.

Lane was the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) aggregate in 1986, in 1987 he took home the world champion bull riding. This means he was the highest-scoring competitor out of 15 of the world’s best bull riders, attempting to ride 10 of the rangest bulls. Lane would have been the first bull rider to ever ride all 10 bulls at the NFR but was bucked off by Red Rock. Finally, the day came when Red Rock who was voted PRCA bucking bull of the year and was unridden on 309 attempts was paired against Lane at Redding, California May 20th, 1988. Lane successfully rode Red Rock for 8 seconds.

In 1989 at Cheyenne Frontier Days, also known as the ‘Daddy of them all’ Lane Frost was injured after being bucked off a bull. Lane rode Takin’ Care of Business and scored 85 points. The bull’s horn struck Lane and broke 3 ribs and severed an artery. Lane was inducted into the pro rodeo hall of fame in 1990. In 1989, Lane’s best friend and travelling partner Tuff Hedeman rode a bull at the NFR for 16 seconds in honour of Lane.

I would love to travel back in time to the 1980s to witness Lane Frost’s career as a bull rider. He was the world’s best at this time. I would like to ask him why he chose to ride bulls instead of broncs like his dad. I would like to know what motivated him and know about his experiences of being on the road travelling to rodeos and the guys he rode with. Many people in my life talk about ‘the good old days’, I would like to experience them.

The Car of My Dreams

They are all different shapes of cars and sizes of engines in cars across the world so some people might have trouble picking their dream car. It’s not just those things people have to decide on but there are different colors and many different things that you can add to your dream car. If I was to have a dream car I would make it special to me and make it fancy. Some things that don’t come in the car at the dealership or something that people don’t put in their cars is what I would look at doing.

If I was able to have the car of my dreams I would first go to the Webbs Ford dealership in Vermilion. The reason I would go there is that they have good service and my dad says that Fords are the only thing that is allowed in his yard. There are many different cars but I would have to get a truck and make it look like a compensation machine. Once I found the general type of truck I want there are a lot of options from there.

The first thing I would pick out is the exterior of the truck. The color of the truck that I want is called Blue Jean and it is like a navy blue color. Once I picked the color then I would pick what package I wanted. The package that I would pick would be the king Ranch which is the 3rd nicest package that you can get for Fords. The reason that I would pick the King Ranch package is that it comes with a brown trim that runs along the bottom of the body. Also with the King Ranch, the interior is brown leather seats which I think looks the best.

For me to have a dream truck I would have to put on add ons to make it look sexy. The truck would just come with stock tires and rims so I would have to put on aftermarket rims and tires. The rims I would get are Fuel Lethals which are many black rims with chrome edging on the spokes. Since just aftermarket rims with stock tires don’t look good I would put 35-inch tires on. The second last thing that I would do is put a leveling kit on the truck just to make it look a little big and then I would be able to help girls get into my truck. Since it’s my dream truck I would put carpet flooring and a tv in it. I don’t know if I would put carpet in any other truck or car.

If I was able to have the truck of my dreams I would be a little overwhelmed on what kind of truck I would buy. Since I got to write an essay on the truck of my dreams I would have a 2020 ford diesel. Once I bought the truck I would put on many add ons such as rims, big tires, carpet flooring, and a tv. The truck would be blue in color and leather seats. The reason why I would pick this truck is that I like Ford the best.

The Awful Burden of The Unsolved Riddles of Existence

The awful burden of the unsolved riddles of existence. A riddle is a question or statement intentionally phrased so as to require ingenuity in ascertaining its answer or meaning, typically presented as a game. Many riddles are funny and many are unsolved riddles of existence. There are many different things that are unsolved because people have different opinions on the riddles. Some riddles that are unsolved to me are:who is the best hockey player because everyone has a different opinion?, Does a tree make a sound if it falls in a forest with no one around?, and Are you the same person you were five years ago?

One riddle that I think is unsolved is who is the best hockey player because everyone has a different opinion. To be perfectly honest I don’t have one person that I think is the best hockey player. The 2 people that I think are the best are Wayne Gretzky and Connor McDavid. The reason that I can’t pick which one is better is that Wayne played when the goalies weren’t as good and they had very small pads. Connor has been playing in the NHL since 2015 and has been the fastest since and has got close or over 100 points every year. Wayne on paper is better than Connor because of how many points he had but Connor is playing now and the sport has gotten way harder. In the long run, I think that Connor might get very close or meet the number of points that Wayne had.

Does a tree make a sound if it falls in a forest with no one around? Well, I would have to say that trees still make noise falling when no one is around. My opinion behind this might sound weird but trees don’t have like voice boxes to only make noise when someone is around. Also is the tree is in the forest there are other trees around it that it would hit and that would make a sound. In forests there are more than just other trees, there would be wildlife that have ears that would have to hear the tree falling.

Are you the same person you were five years ago? I don’t think that I am the same as I was 5 years ago because that was when I was in grade 4 and I’m now in grade 9. No one is the same as they were five years ago because a lot can happen in 5 years. For example for someone who isn’t even 5 yet wasn’t even alive 5 years ago. Then there are people like me and in five years my voice got deeper, I got more hair on my body, and I have grown a lot.

Hockey has changed so much in the last few years and there are many good players but I would have to say that Connor Mcdavid is the best. When trees fall they make sounds but do they do that when people aren’t there? Yes, they do because there is always something listening.  People are never the same because they are always changing and becoming different. No matter what people ask you, you will always have a different answer because everyone is different.

Signs of Intelligence in the Bible Part 2

  • 2 examples of the importance and/or value of musical intelligence
  • 3 people who are word smart
  • 2 people who use logical intelligence
  • 2 people whose understanding of Jesus is rooted in the intelligence of relationships
  • 1 person who is self smart
  • 3 passages that rely on spatial intelligence
  • 1 person who uses physical intelligence to understand Jesus.

  • 2 examples of the importance and/or value of musical intelligence are in 1 Samuel 16:23 including David when he played music to calm Saul, and in 2 Chronicles 5:11-14  when the people gather in church and join each other in song and music to praise the Lord.

  • 3 people who are word smart are Aaron the Levite in Exodus 4:10-17, who was sent by God to be the voice of others, the Lord Himself in Exodus 4:10-17 getting mad at Moses for questioning him in set B, and lastly, Mary who sits and listens to the words of Jesus to understand him in John 11:5-6.

  • 2 people who use logical intelligence are Moses’s father-in-law in Exodus 18:13-27, and Paul in Romans 7:14-23 in set G.

  • 2 people whose understanding of Jesus is rooted in the intelligence of relationships are Martha in John 11:5-6 , who believed that if Jesus stayed her brother wouldn’t have died.  Another person is Thomas in John 11:16, who’s intelligence for relationships was displayed when he suggested that all the disciples go with Jesus to be crucified in set E.

  • 1 person who is self smart is Mary in Luke 10:38-42 in set A, and Paul in Romans 7:14-23.  Paul displays intrapersonal intelligence through his seemingly expansive understanding of his own self, his inner conflict, the knowledge of how the law affects him personally, and of how what he wants to do in life sometimes conflicts with the law.

  • 3 passages that prove spatial intelligence are in Acts 8:26-38 with Philip traveling and seeing the spaces conceptualized by his spatial intelligence. In set B,  Luke 5:4-11 on Peter’s boat in set F, and Matthew 14:24-33 also in set F.

  • 1 person who uses physical intelligence to understand Jesus is Thomas from John 20:24-29 in Set E.  Physical intelligence meaning how Jesus had marks on his hands, feet and side.

  • Thomas’s need for proof was understood and accepted by Jesus.

Set F

Luke 5:4-11

When does Peter first begin to understand Jesus?

Answer: Peter started to understand Jesus when Simon and Peter pulled the nets full of fish into the boat and the boat started sinking.  Peter fell to his knees, saying that Jesus shouldn’t help him because he had sinned. Jesus said to Peter that he was forgiven and that He can teach them about His forgiveness.

Summary:  This passage is part of the story in which Jesus tells his disciples, who had very little fortune catching fish on that day, to cast the nets from the other side of the boat.  Peter realizes that Jesus has performed a miracle and presents himself to Jesus very humbly.

Matthew 14:24-33

What does Peter do when he sees Jesus?

Jesus appeared to the disciples and said, “Take heart, it is I, do not be afraid”  Peter then answered Jesus and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water”. Peter did not react the same way as the other disciples that saw and feared Jesus.  Instead, Peter answered Jesus’ question and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” Jesus then said, “Come.” As Peter got out of the boat, he then started walking on the water and came towards Jesus. While Peter was walking towards Jesus, Peter noticed a strong wind, and began to sink he then cried out to Jesus, “Lord save me!” Jesus then immediately reached out his hand and caught him. Jesus then said “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”. When Peter sees Jesus he answers and follows him out onto the water.

Matthew 17:1-8

What does Peter suggest in this passage?

Peter suggests that these mountains are a great place to be, so he says he can make three dwellings for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah.  Peter suggests that these mountains are a great place because the sun lights up Jesus’ face like lanterns, and Jesus talks to them shortly after his clothes became dazzling white.

John 13:3-10

What does Jesus do?  How does Peter respond?

This passage is from the time around Jesus’ Passion.  Holy Thursday; when Jesus and His disciples are having the Last Supper in the upper room.  Jesus presents himself to his disciples as a servant and washes their feet in a basin. When Jesus offers to clean him, Peter responds in a stubborn manner, stating that unless Peter washes Jesus’ feet, Jesus can have no share with him.  Simon Peter continues to say that if Jesus is to clean His disciples, He should not only wash his feet but also his hands and his head.

Based on these passages, which of the intelligence does Peter often use to understand and respond to Jesus?

Based on these passages, I can infer that Peter responds to Jesus with interpersonal intelligence.  Interpersonal intelligence is knowledge derived from social interaction and relationships with other people.  In the first passage, Peter displays great humility, but Jesus forgave Peter and offered to teach Peter of his great forgiveness.  This tells us that Peter knows Jesus would have some form of response to his actions, thus further confirming his knowledge of interpersonal intelligence.  Passage two further develops Peter’s responses to Jesus. We read of Peter’s response to Jesus’ pleas for him to come out onto the water with him. Peter comes as Jesus commands him.  In passage three, Peter recognizes the presence of others and offers to make dwellings for them. Passage four shows another act of Peter’s humility, telling Jesus that his feet, hands, and head all need to be washed to really be clean.

1 Corinthians 2:7 – 10

Question:  What does Paul say helped reveal the power and the Spirit?

Answer:   Paul revealed the power and the spirit by going to the people and saying to them that he decided to know nothing among the people except Jesus Christ, and he was crucified.  He then tells them his speech was not with plausible words of wisdom but with a demonstration of the Spirit and power.  So that faith is within the power of God.

Summary: Paul went to the people and told them that he decided to know nothing among the people except Jesus Christ, and he was crucified.  He then tells them his speech was not with plausible words of wisdom but with a demonstration of the Spirit and power. So that faith is within the power of God.

Fr Joy’s first visit

Today was the first time I had ever met or saw Father Joy. Today father joy talked about his background and where he is from. Father Joy is from Inda that is where he was born and went to school.  Inda is 3.287 million km² which means that Canada is 3 times the size in landmass. India has a population of 1.3 billion people and Canada has a population of 37 million and India is 3 times smaller than Canada. Father Joy also talked about his schooling after high school and how that he knew how he wanted to be a pastor ever since grade 10 but his parents wouldn’t let him be one until he graduated. Father told the class that he lives in the state of Kerala which is smaller than Nova Scotia and has about the same or more people as in Canada. Fathe Joy was the pastor and a church in Edmonton before he came to Vermilion to be the pastor at the Holy Name of Jesus parish.

My motivation is supportive which means I support other choices.  I also enjoy reading over others work and try to help approve it. I try to help people in every way possible.  I also like to help and support others in emotional ways. I like to make sure everyone is being treated fairly. Lastly, I like to make sure everyone is being helped fairly in every way.

According to the survey that I just finished, it said that my strongest subject in school is physical education. I would say that is true because I love sports and enjoy gym class a lot. The second subject the survey says that I’m good at is LA which I kinda agree with because I’m not too good at it. The third one is technical trades which I’m not really sure about because I don’t really know what it is.

The reason why I put pictures of what I did on my canva is that they are people doing physical activity that I enjoy. Water is also on the poster because you need to drink water while doing physical activity.
