My Top Subjects
My top subject area is languages. This is followed by social sciences and language arts. I am fond of most subjects that are not repetitive. This is due to the fact that I will lose focus easily if I get overwhelmed or bored with the work that I am assigned. I try my best to work as efficiently as possible, but there are days when my brain stops functioning, so to speak.
My best subject is language. Because I am bilingual, learning other languages is easier for me. Although I can speak and understand Tagalog, it’s not the most efficient way for me to communicate. I have a hard time reading the words even though they’re made up of the Latin alphabet. I grew up speaking Tagalog but I’m not exposed to it every hour of every day. This resulted in my language skills deteriorating. If I am to learn another language, I am going to have to practice it daily.
I am most interested in the social sciences. Learning about the history of anything and everything that I stumble upon is captivating to me. I am intrigued by the cultures of different countries and how those countries came to be what they are today. I would love to learn more about the lives of the ancients and how their societies worked. Similarly, I’m interested in how early human technologies and languages evolved over time.
I adore writing and reading, that is, if it is not being forced upon me. I have always had a passion for literature for as long as I could read and write. I like having the freedom to express myself through writing, and I enjoy looking for prompts that light a spark in my creative process. Stories embedded in poems enthrall me, and I am appreciative of the amount of time it takes to compose remarkable poetry. Literature allows my mind to escape into a different world.
I enjoy most subjects at school that involve creativity. I appreciate the projects that allow me to express myself to the fullest extent of my capabilities. Having the opportunity to turn my thoughts into a physical piece would be a refreshing break. Most of the time, I prefer to learn about different topics on my own; this lets me gather tons of information. As the school year progresses, I hope to improve as much as possible.
