Who Am I? Motivations.

My top two motivations are relationships and support. Honestly, that doesn’t surprise me one bit.

I have always been a talkative person. The personality test we did earlier, plus some of the other tests we have done have proved that. And based on some of the class discussions we have had, I’m guessing you already knew that. I am one of those kinds of people where if I just moved to a new school far away (ex. Toronto) I would have made friends by the end of the day. For some people, relationships are hard to form, for others, like myself, it just sort of comes naturally. And even if those relationships are negative (ex. annoying co-worker) I grew up with a brother and strict parents. I know how to be kind to people, even if I don’t like them.

My other motivation was support. I feel like this one sort of ties in with the relationship one. Support comes from groups. I think I work well with groups. I generally get along with most people. I love helping others. This could be with simple tasks or big tasks. I am comfortable giving out advice. I also am not afraid to be wrong. I am okay with others showing me how to do something differently. I am okay with letting others help me. In the myBlueprint survey they use an example of an arch. They say that you are giving support, you gain extra tools that can help you.

For me these results really weren’t different from what I was expecting. I have always wanted to work in a social place, where we work as a team and help others. I don’t think this will affect how I work to achieve my goals too much, simply because I already knew this and have been thinking of these factors already.
